Bio

Known for her sublime voice, UNA, from Seoul, is one of the most prominent classical-crossover artists.

After having completed her music study at 'The National University of Music Nürnberg' and 'The National University of Music München' in Germany, she devoted her early career to opera singer taking principal roles in the masterpieces such as 'Die Zauberflöte', 'Il Barbiere di Siviglia', 'Carmen', 'Le nozze di Figaro', 'Il Trovatore' and 'Die Fledermaus'.

Be that as it may, UNA, commonly referred to as "우나" in Korean, turned her artistic preoccupation toward classical-crossover music in an attempt to more closely reach out to a wider audience, and made her name in contemporary interpretation of operatic arias.

Meanwhile, in 2004, the theme song entitled "So In Love", from Korean television drama 'Love Story In Harvard' aired on SBS, has brought her a great popularity. In addition, the chance to give joint performances with the National Orchestras of Paris naturally led her to the city of Paris, where she has continued to enlarge the scope of her music.

Also desirous of her own music, UNA has released in 2010 her first special album 'Una Love', which created a fresh sensation,  showing her talent not only for singing, but for writing songs, and which included some excellent songs 'Long wait', 'Au crépuscule', and 'Gift'. After a stunning single 'Solvejgs lied', her music catalogue has been enriched by third studio album 'Promise' that experimented with a wide range of sounds from nostalgia-tinged french chanson to orchestrated korean folk song. Also, beautiful singles 'Una Arirang' both in French and in English truly made her an Arirang diva, brightening the inscription of Arirang on UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage of humanity. And then, new artistic albums 'La Paix' and '아리랑' have joined her discography.

우나(UNA), an interpreter of music, comes up with a variety of styles that define the genre, and undoubtedly shows the ne plus ultra of artistic expression. Sometimes exploring sound beyond its traditional boundaries, and sometimes reconciling a string of musical genres, she is guiding us into her own beautiful harmonies based on classical music.
